Pinhole Shots

I took a photo canister that was black on the outside and in the inside, and made a hole in the middle of it, I took a piece of tin and covered it over the whole and poked a little hole in the middle, that is how I made my first pinhole camera. I took my pinhole camera and put a piece of photo paper without exposing it by doing this in this in the dark and as I finish out my unexposed photo paper, went outside and tried to take a picture with my pinhole camera when it was sunny outside. As I started to take pictures my photos didn’t work properly as I was developing in the darkroom, most of my photos turn black because I over exposed my pinhole camera, I took about 5 shots with my camera and there was only one photo that kind of worked because it was a bit dark in the background and the reason for that is that I exposed it a little to much and for that it turned the way it did. When I took the picture I lifted the strap covering the hole without exposing the photo and the time was 4 seconds and it turned good but not great, I feel that I could take the photo in the time of 3 seconds and it might work perfectly clear.
