For this assignment we were
to change the shutter speed on our cameras to capture the same type of motion
two different ways. On my particular camera I was able to manually set the
shutter speed, while the aperture would set automatically. The day I took
the pictures it happened to be raining, and I decided to use the rainwater
as my subject. I found a place where it flowed down the wall and proceeded
to take the motion shots with my camera set witha fast shutter speed. That
went easily, and I took a couple of different shots from different angles.
But when I went to use my camera with a slower shutter speed I could not hold
the camera still long enough for it to take the shot. Eventually I used a
tripod that the camera would sit on to avoid the camera shake.
This shot was taken with a
much slower shutter speed of about 1.6 seconds, with an aperture of f8. The
water this time, had more time to move while the shutter was open longer,
causing a blur.
