For this assignment,
two photographs of the same subject had to be taken. The image that you see
here is the first picture I took. I had set my camera’s aperture to
2.5 and my camera automatically set the shutter speed at 1/25 of a second.
This meant that the aperture was big allowing lots of light to enter the camera.
With this setting I was able to focus in on the flowers and have the background
simplified, or blurred out.
For the second shot I set the
aperture to 8.0 and again my camera automatically set the shutter speed at
1/4 of a second. (To see the second image simply move your mouse
over the image) With this setting I was able to have everything
in focus, including the background. This shot was a little harder to take
because there was a camera shake issue. Eventually I piled the camera on top
of three boxes to get the shot, and it came out much more clearly than what
I had been getting previously. But in my opinion I think I still could have
gotten a sharper photo. The shot still came out nicely bcasue I was able to
get quite close to the flowers and the vines and hedges grew along a fence
allowing me to blur the image more easily.
