Light Painting
By: Erika Warren
This was created by painting with light. To do this you need exposed film paper, developer and fixer. First you take a paintbrush and dip it into developer, then spread it over the exposed film paper. Then take another paintbrush and dip it in fixer, then spread it over the exposed film paper and mix it with the developer. This mixture will give the painting a yellowish color. Then let your painting sit on a flat surface to dry. You can add design by using electrical tape as long as it is placed on the film paper before you start painting.
This was also created by painting with light. You need exposed film paper, developer and fixer. You take a paintbrush and dip it into developer, then write whatever you want on the exposed film paper. It will turn black because it as exposed to light and is developing. Then splash some developer and fixer onto the exposed film paper and that will give your painting the messy effect. The fixer turn the film paper white because it is removing the silver nitrate from the film paper. In some places, the exposed film paper may turn yellow, this is because the developer and the fixer had mixed together.
This was also created by painting with light. All light paintings are done in the light because you need exposed film paper. You also need developer and fixer. Take some fixer and splash it onto the exposed film paper, this will turn it white because it is removing the silver nitrate from the film paper. Then splash some developer onto the exposed film paper, this will turn it black because it is developing exposed film paper. In some places it may turn yellow because the developer and the fixer are mixing together. Once your painting is done, lay it on a flat surface to dry. Then make some more paintings. Be creative and try new things. Make mistake and get messy, you never know what could happen or what you could create.
