Workshop #1

Title: Pinhole Workshop #1
Duration: 1.5 days

This is a hands-on photography/writing workshop for all ages. The workshop is designed to engage the senses of the participant in a fun, interactive and educational manner. It will appeal to all who have a curious nature, a desire to express themselves, and an innocence that still allows the person to go "wow". The workshop is not just about teaching photography and writing. It is about basics. It is about simplicity and the idea that technology does not necessarily mean something has to go beep. It is about transforming and creating. A paradigm shift is the least that should occur.

The Goal: Use pinhole photography and writing to explore the idea that "what you see isn't always what you get".

Key Word: Transformation

Workshops:

Pinhole Workshop #1 (1.5 days) - From garbage to art in a day and a half. The ultimate hands-on photography and writing workshop that will absolutely captivate audiences of any age. Prizes, contests, games, audio-visual and more. Participants will build a camera the size of a classroom. More accurately the actual classroom will be the camera. They will then take a picture the size of a chalkboard using the classroom camera. Each member will also walk away with their own pinhole camera, built from garbage, and the knowledge to use it. Click here to see outline.

Pinhole Workshop #2 (1 day) - This is a reduced version of Pinhole Workshop #1. It does not include the Literacy element; Room camera; Group Photo; and Prizes. It is geared more for adults but is still sure to please.

Pinhole Workshop #3 (1/2 day) - The basics in basics. A pinhole workshop that concentrates on the main elements of photography. Participants will construct their own pinhole camera, load negatives, take pictures, and develop their own film from their new cameras.
